My journey was not just inspired by a business idea but by a deep quest to find myself again. I took inspiration from my childhood in my native Caribbean island, Guadeloupe, and sought to build a new entrepreneurial chapter that was deeply connected to my roots.

Not many people know this, but before embarking on this path, I went through a profound period of prayer, reflection, and introspection for six months, seeking clarity on how to realign myself with my deepest core values. Life, responsibilities, family duties, and the struggles of adulthood often cloud our original aspirations. I needed to actively step back and rediscover what truly made me happy and fulfilled.

During this period, I realized that my love for nature and the environment had been present since my childhood. Growing up in a lush, tropical environment, surrounded by the beauty of the Caribbean, deeply shaped my connection to the Earth. Some of my happiest memories are from my childhood garden, a place that still brings me peace when I think about it. I wanted to reconnect with that feeling of harmony and purpose and integrate it into my professional life. Prayer helped me find my way and revealed to me that I was meant to dedicate my professional competencies to something meaningful—the protection of the planet. I made the conscious decision to be among those who preserve rather than exploit the Earth, while at the same time creating a sustainable livelihood for myself and my children and building something that aligns with my values. This journey is not just about business—it is a personal mission that deeply resonates with who I am.

Tell us about what you do and what fuels your passion.

I am the founder and CEO of We Take Part, a European regulated equity crowdfunding platform exclusively dedicated to cleantech and climate tech startups. Our mission is to connect purpose-driven investors with visionary entrepreneurs who are shaping a more sustainable world.

What truly fuels my passion is the fact that I am not just running a business—I am answering a calling. I know that what I am building has a real, positive impact, and this belief is what drives me every day. I am convinced that We Take Part is not just a platform; it is a transformative force in sustainable finance, empowering both investors and entrepreneurs to contribute to a better future. This strong sense of purpose gives me the energy to push forward, no matter the challenges.

What challenges have you faced on your journey, and what has the process of overcoming them looked like for you?

Entrepreneurship is filled with trials, and as a Caribbean woman operating in the European financial sector, I have had to navigate cultural and structural barriers. One of the biggest challenges has been accessing financial resources. My profile—a solo founder, a Black Caribbean woman, a finance professional with an unconventional approach—does not necessarily fit the mold of what European investors traditionally look for. As a result, I have had to rely on my own financial resources and those of my closest circle to build my company from the ground up.

This journey has required immense determination, resilience, and independence. I am not someone who begs for opportunities—I am someone who creates them. I believe so strongly in my mission that I refuse to wait for validation from external investors to move forward. Instead, I have embraced every challenge as an opportunity to learn patience, discernment, alignment, and resilience, and I continue to build with faith and perseverance.

What sets your work apart, and what do you hope people take away from your story and contributions?

We Take Part is more than a financial platform—it is a movement. Unlike traditional finance models that focus solely on profit, we prioritize impact, sustainability, and ethical investing. My perspective as a Caribbean woman in this field allows me to bring inclusivity and diversity into sustainable finance, ensuring that solutions benefit a broader range of communities.

What truly sets my work apart is that I am not just doing this because I had a business idea or because I want to make money. The biggest difference is that I am answering a calling—this is what I am meant to do for the rest of my life. This deep conviction and alignment with my purpose make my work stand out, and I hope it inspires others to embrace their own purpose with the same dedication.

What has been the most rewarding part of your journey so far?

The most rewarding part has been my personal growth. While this is a deeply entrepreneurial and professional journey, it has also profoundly transformed me as a person. Through this experience, I have cultivated alignment, deep love for myself and others, high morals, high standards, optimism, and resilience, like never before.

This growth has not only benefited me but also my children and those closest to me. They have witnessed my evolution, and in turn, they have been inspired to grow as well. Seeing the ripple effect of my journey on my loved ones is one of the most fulfilling aspects of this experience.

How has faith played a role in your growth and the way you impact others?

Faith has been the biggest driving force in my growth and the way I impact others. I rely on prayer and God every single day of my life, seeking guidance, wisdom, and strength. I do not attribute anything I have achieved—or will achieve—to myself alone; I know that everything comes from Him.

This deep sense of gratitude and trust in God gives me the peace and confidence to keep going, even when things seem uncertain. I believe that by surrendering to faith, I am able to align myself with my mission and impact others in a way that is meaningful and lasting.

What message do you want to share with other women who are on their own journey toward purpose and fulfillment?

To every woman seeking her purpose: Put all of your trust and faith in God, because He will never abandon you. No matter what obstacles you face, He is always guiding you toward the path that is meant for you.

Some of the verses that inspire and guide me daily include:

• “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3
• “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord you are serving.” — Colossians 3:23-24
• “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11
