Welcome to The Adorned Life! It is indeed a pleasure to have you here! Can you tell us a little about yourself and the journey that has brought you to where you currently are?

My name is Kenya Parks, and I am a speaker, author, entrepreneur, and dedicated advocate for women and youth empowerment. At the age of eight, I endured a traumatic experience of sexual assault, which left me feeling voiceless and silenced. This pivotal event ignited a profound determination within me to share my story and inspire others who have faced similar challenges.

Throughout my journey, resilience and faith have been my guiding forces. I have transformed personal adversities into platforms for change, utilizing my voice to uplift and empower those around me. Through my literary works, involvement with the CARE Squad, and co-hosting the Her Perspective podcast, I strive to encourage individuals—especially women and young girls—to recognize their inherent worth, pursue their true purpose, and lead lives filled with joy, confidence, and meaningful impact.

What is your current role or mission, and how do you believe it contributes to the world around you?

My personal mission is to love God, love people, and make a difference. This mission guides me in creating platforms that empower and uplift others. As the Director of Operations for Primos Café and Bake Shop, I help cultivate a strong community and customer experience. Through my Her Perspective podcast that I co-host with Abby and Carney, we provide a space for women to have real conversations that encourage growth and healing. My books, including CARE and The Adventure of the CARE Squad, are designed to instill values of culture, attitude, respect, and energy in both adults and children. By living out my mission, I aim to help people realize their worth, lead with kindness, and know they are enough. I believe that when we uplift one another, we create a ripple effect that reaches far beyond what we can see.

In what ways do you feel you are redefining what it means to live an adorned life?

For me, living an adorned life isn’t about external appearances—it’s about the beauty that comes from within. It’s about living with purpose, walking in authenticity, and embracing every season of life with grace and gratitude. I strive to redefine what it means to be adorned by focusing on inner strength, faith, and community. Whether through storytelling, mentorship, or creating safe spaces for women to share their voices, I want to remind people that true adornment comes from knowing who you are and standing confidently in that truth.

Who or what inspires you to keep pushing forward, especially during challenging times?

My faith in God is my anchor. No matter how tough the road gets, I trust that He has a purpose for everything. I’m also deeply inspired by the women in my life—those who came before me, the ones I walk alongside today, and the young girls I strive to empower. Seeing the resilience of others, witnessing transformation in those I’ve helped, and knowing that my story can make a difference fuels me to keep pushing forward.

Do you have a favorite scripture or spiritual passage that holds special meaning for you?

Yes! One of my favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 29:11—“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This verse has carried me through so many seasons of uncertainty. It reminds me that even when I don’t understand the journey, God already has a plan for my life, and it’s one filled with hope and purpose.

How has your faith played a role in your journey and the work you do?

My faith is the foundation of everything I do. It has given me the strength to overcome personal struggles, the courage to share my story, and the wisdom to serve others with compassion. Whether through my writing, speaking engagements, or mentorship, I strive to be a vessel of hope and encouragement. I believe that God has placed each of us here with a purpose, and my work is an extension of the calling He has placed on my life.

What message or piece of advice would you like to share with other women who are striving to make a difference in their communities?

You don’t have to wait for the perfect moment, the perfect resources, or the perfect plan—just start where you are with what you have. Your voice, your story, and your presence matter more than you realize. Stay true to who you are, lean on your faith, and surround yourself with women who will uplift and support you. The world needs what only you can offer, so don’t be afraid to take up space, dream big, and make a lasting impact.
