As I sit here amidst the quiet aftermath of another beautiful day, I can’t help but linger in the afterglow of what was an unexpectedly magical evening spent right within these familiar walls I call home. It was a night that transformed my perspective on celebration and the idea of saving our “good things” for what we deem as special occasions.
Donning my current favorite little black dress—an Adorned Style Loft little number that whispers elegance, grace and…FUN—I decided to flout convention. Why, you might wonder? Because i was struck with the force of revelation: EVERY SINGLE DAY is a special occasion, and what better time to wear a cocktail dress than on a day that ends in ‘y’? HAHA!!

With my home as the stage, I curated an ambiance that would make the most exclusive venues envious. My daughter and I set the table with beautiful tableware and lit taper candles and votives throughout the main floor of the house.
And as the candles flickered in harmonious rhythm throughout the space, they cast warm light that seemed to dance with the soothing notes from Volume I of my ASL Supper Club Jazz Soirée playlist. The vibes were amazing! The evening was intimate, shared with the best of company—my children, our loyal canine companion, and the comforting embrace of our safe haven that we call home.

As my son assumed the role of chef, cooking up a meal that could rival any gourmet offering, we mixed delightful mocktails, infusing the night with laughter, food, music, photos and the clinking of glasses. We had very own private Soulful Supper Club moment, where the dress code was ‘fabulous’ and the company was ‘priceless’.

This epiphany illuminated my &mind: how often do we tuck away and save those special items for “just the right moment”—a moment that, more often than not, remains elusive, leaving us with unspent joy and unused treasures.
It’s a habit we must unlearn.
The expensive perfume, the beautiful serveware, the dinner pieces that we put away to only be admired—they all deserve the light of day and the vibrancy of our daily lives.
Each day is a gift, an occasion that is in itself perfect and deserving of our finest. It’s a call to action for us to stop waiting for milestones to roll out the red carpet of our lives. Let’s be architects of our joy, champions of our happiness, and curators of moments that turn the mundane into special memories…and the ordinary into the extraordinary!

As we stand on the cusp of a New Year, I’m already planning ways to make New Year’s Eve not just another evening, but a continuation of this newfound tradition of everyday celebration. Definitely will be wearing another cocktail dress…probably in a rich vibrant color this time!
So, let us make a vow to not just live but to live beautiful. Let us make the most of the now, for it’s in the now that memories are made and life truly shines. May our days be a continuation of special occasions, each one adorned with the very best of what we have to offer.
Here’s to living The Adorned Life, not just on holidays or during festivities, but every single day.
How will you make today special? The best time to enjoy the good things is now, and I, for one, can’t wait to see how we all make our everyday extraordinary.
Let’s raise a glass to The Adorned Life…today and every day. Cheers to the now, the new, and the memorable!
